Homemade Chicken Cordon Bleu
Bring a touch of restaurant elegance to your kitchen with this classic Chicken Cordon Bleu. Juicy chicken breasts are stuffed with savory ham and melty Swiss cheese, then coated in a crispy golden crust. It’s surprisingly easy and always impressive!

🧂 Ingredients
Ingredient Quantity
Boneless, skinless chicken breasts 4
Swiss cheese slices 4
Deli ham slices 4
All-purpose flour ½ cup
Eggs, beaten 2
Breadcrumbs 1¼ cups
Grated Parmesan cheese ½ cup
Garlic powder 1 tsp
Paprika ½ tsp
Salt & pepper To taste
👩‍🍳 Instructions
Preheat & Prep
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Lightly grease a baking dish.
Place each chicken breast between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound to about ¼-inch thickness.
Assemble the Rolls
Place one slice of Swiss cheese and one slice of ham on each pounded chicken breast.
Roll them up tightly. Secure with toothpicks if needed.
Set Up Breading Stations
In three separate shallow bowls:
Bowl 1: All-purpose flour
Bowl 2: Beaten eggs
Bowl 3: Mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper
Coat the Chicken
Dredge each chicken roll in flour.
Dip in the eggs, coating completely.
Roll in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere.
Place each roll seam-side down in the baking dish.
Bake
Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temp: 165°F) and golden brown on the outside.
Rest & Serve
Let rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
Garnish with chopped parsley if desired.
Serve with sides like mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, or a crisp green salad.
