10 oz mozzarella string cheese, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 cup Italian bread crumbs
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, whisked
1/4 cup milk
Cayenne pepper, optional

Cut mozzarella string cheese sticks into bite-sized pieces.

In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs to break them up. Add the milk and whisk again to combine.

Prepare three bowls: one for flour, one for the egg and milk mixture, and one for bread crumbs. Arrange them in a line (flour, egg wash, bread crumbs).

Dip each piece of cheese into the flour, then into the egg wash, and finally roll it in the bread crumbs. Place coated cheese pieces on a plate.

Heat approximately 2 inches of vegetable oil in a medium skillet to 350°F (180°C). Test the oil by placing a wooden spoon handle into it; if bubbles form and roll around the handle, the oil is ready
