Meatballs with Creamy Mushroom Sauce

Ingredients

For the meatballs:

500 g (about 1 lb) ground meat (beef, veal, or a mix)

1 egg

1 onion, finely chopped

2 garlic cloves, minced

50 g (about 1/2 cup) breadcrumbs

2 tablespoons milk

1 tablespoon chopped parsley

1 teaspoon mustard

Salt and pepper to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil for cooking

For the creamy mushroom sauce:

250 g (about 9 oz) sliced button mushrooms

1 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon flour

250 ml (1 cup) beef broth

150 ml (2/3 cup) heavy cream

1 tablespoon soy sauce (optional, for extra flavor)

Salt and pepper to taste
