Apple Crisp Bites

Instructions

 

  1. Preheat Oven & Prep Pan:
    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 24-cup mini muffin tin.

  2. Cook Apple Filling:

    • In a medium pan, melt butter.

    • Add apples, spices, brown sugar, and 3 tablespoons of water.

    • Cook over medium-high heat for 4–6 minutes, until apples are slightly softened.

    • In a small dish, combine cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water. Stir into apple mixture.

    • Continue cooking 4–5 minutes until apples are tender and filling thickens. Cool.

  3. Make Crust Mixture:

    • In a large bowl, combine flour, oats, and brown sugar.

    • Cut in cold butter with a pastry cutter until mixture looks like coarse crumbs.

  4. Form the Cups:

    • Place 1 heaping tablespoon of crust mixture into each muffin cup.

    • Press along bottom and sides to form a cup.

    • Reserve remaining crust mixture for topping.

  5. Fill & Top:

    • Spoon about 1 tablespoon of apple filling into each crust cup.

    • Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of remaining crust mixture.

  6. Bake:
    Bake 15–20 minutes or until golden brown.
    Cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
    Use a knife to loosen and pop them out.

  7. Serve:
    Drizzle with caramel topping if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.
