Apple Fritter Bread

Step 1: Prepare Your Pan
Preheat oven to 350°F
Spray a 9×5 loaf pan with nonstick spray
Line with parchment paper for easy removal

Step 2: Mix The Fillings
Combine diced apples, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl
Stir well and set aside to let flavors meld

Step 3: Make the Batter
In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Using an electric mixer, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes. Don’t rush this step – it’s crucial for a tender bread!
Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
Alternate adding flour mixture and sour cream to the butter mixture, starting and ending with flour (mix in 3 batches of flour and 2 batches of sour cream).

Step 4: Layer and Bake
Pour half the batter into your prepared pan, spreading evenly.
Layer half the apple mixture on top.
Add remaining batter, then top with remaining apples.
Bake for 50-60 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean. Tent with foil during the last 15 minutes if top browns too quickly.

Step 5: Finish and Glaze
Cool in pan for 15 minutes, then remove to a wire rack.
While bread cools, whisk together glaze ingredients until smooth.
Once bread is completely cool, drizzle with glaze.
