Classic Apple Pie Recipe
Ingredients
3-4 apples (preferably rennet or Golden Delicious)
250g plain flour
150g sugar
3 eggs
100g melted butter
1 sachet of baking powder (16g)
A pinch of salt
Flavorings to taste (cinnamon, vanilla, lemon zest)
Method
Preparing the apples: Peel the apples, remove the cores, and slice them thinly. If desired, you can also sprinkle them with a little lemon juice to prevent them from browning.
Making the batter: Beat the eggs and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy. Add the melted butter and mix well.
Mixing in the dry ingredients: Sift the flour with the baking powder and a pinch of salt and gradually add them to the egg mixture. Mix until smooth.
Flavoring: Add flavorings to taste and mix again.
Adding the apples: Add the apple slices to the mixture and stir gently to prevent them from breaking.
Pour into a baking pan: Grease a baking pan (approx. 24 cm in diameter) with butter, dust with flour, and pour in the batter. Smooth the surface with a spatula.
Bake: Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 40–50 minutes, or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Cool and serve: Let the cake cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
