Step 3: Create the Sauce

  1. In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent (about 3–5 minutes).
  2. Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, cumin, garam masala, paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using). Cook for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  3. Pour in the drained diced tomatoes and simmer for 5 minutes, breaking them down slightly with a spoon.
  4. Gradually whisk in the heavy cream until smooth. Simmer for another 3–5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly.
