Every time I make this dish, my friends are lining up for seconds!
Season the pork chops with salt and black pepper.
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and brown the pork chops on both sides.
Place the browned pork chops into the slow cooker.
Add Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, and garlic powder to the slow cooker.
Top with sliced yellow onion and a sprig of fresh rosemary or thyme.
Place slices of salted butter on top of the pork chops and sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desired.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the pork chops are tender and fully cooked.
Serve hot with your choice of sides.
Variations & Tips
For a sweeter twist, add a sliced apple to the slow cooker for a hint of fruitiness. If you prefer a smokier flavor, try adding a teaspoon of smoked paprika to the seasoning. For those who enjoy a bit of heat, increase the amount of red pepper flakes or add a dash of hot sauce. To make this dish even more convenient, prepare the ingredients the night before and store them in the fridge, so all you have to do in the morning is turn on the slow cooker.
