👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the Dough

  • Stir sugar into warm milk, add yeast. Let foam 5–10 min.
  • Whisk in egg + ¼ cup milk.
  • Mix flour + salt, pour in wet mixture.
  • Knead 8–10 min. Add butter and knead 5–7 more min.
  • Cover and let rise 1 hour until doubled.

2. Shape the Dough

  • Divide into 3 parts. Roll each into a rectangle, roll tightly into a log.
  • Cut each log into 4–5 pieces.
  • Place cut-side up in greased pan or muffin tray.

3. Second Rise + Bake

  • Cover and let rise 1 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C).
  • Brush with egg wash (1 egg + 1 tbsp water).
  • Bake 25–30 min until golden and cooked through.

4. Glaze

  • Mix butter + milk, brush over warm bread for soft shine.
