Fried Cabbage with Shrimp, Sausage & Bacon 🥬🍤🥓

Instructions:

1️⃣ Cook the Bacon & Sausage:

  • In a large skillet or Dutch oven, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove with a slotted spoon and set aside, leaving the bacon grease in the pan.

  • Add the sliced sausage to the same pan and cook until browned (about 3-4 mins). Remove and set aside with the bacon.

2️⃣ Sauté the Aromatics:

  • In the same pan, add the onion and bell pepper (if using). Cook for 2-3 mins until softened.

  • Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.

3️⃣ Cook the Shrimp:

  • Push the veggies to one side, then add the shrimp in a single layer. Season with paprika, cayenne, black pepper, and salt.

  • Cook for 1-2 mins per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the bacon and sausage.

4️⃣ Cook the Cabbage:

  • Add the shredded cabbage to the pan. Stir in thyme, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce (if using).

  • Cook for 5-7 mins, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender but still slightly crisp.

  • Stir in the butter for extra richness.

5️⃣ Combine & Serve:

  • Return the cooked bacon, sausage, and shrimp to the pan. Toss everything together and heat through (1-2 mins).

  • Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

  • Garnish with sliced green onions and serve hot!

Serving Suggestions:

  • Enjoy as a low-carb meal on its own or over rice, mashed potatoes, or grits for a heartier dish.

  • Pairs well with cornbread or a side of collard greens.

This dish is packed with smoky, savory, and slightly spicy flavors—a true Southern-inspired comfort food! Let me know if you try it. 😊
