Homemade Cheese with Just 1 Liter of Milk, Yogurt, and Lemon

Step 1: Heat the Milk

Pour the milk into a saucepan and bring it to a gentle boil. Let it simmer for about 15 minutes.

Step 2: Add Yogurt and Lemon

Stir in the yogurt and lemon juice. Mix gently for a few seconds, turn off the heat, and let the mixture rest at room temperature for 3 hours to curdle.

Step 3: Strain the Cheese

Line a sieve with a clean cotton towel and place it over a bowl. Pour in the mixture to separate the curds from the whey.

Step 4: Chill and Set

Keep the curds wrapped in the towel and place in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Then add salt to taste, wrap again, and refrigerate for another 8 hours to set.

Step 5: Serve

Unwrap your fresh cheese, slice, spread, or use in salads, sandwiches, or appetizers.
