Homemade Musketeer Candy Bar Recipe

  •  How to Make It

    1️⃣ Make the Nougat

    • Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in saucepan over medium heat.
    • Cook to 250°F on a candy thermometer (hard ball stage).
    • Meanwhile, beat egg white + salt to stiff peaks.
    • Slowly stream hot sugar syrup into egg white while beating at high speed.
    • Beat until mixture is glossy and thick. Add vanilla.

    2️⃣ Set & Shape

    • Line a pan with parchment paper (leave an overhang).
    • Spread nougat evenly. Let set 2 hours or overnight.
    • Lift from pan and cut into bars or bites.

    3️⃣ Coat in Chocolate

    • Melt chocolate and shortening until smooth.
    • Dip each nougat piece to fully coat.
    • Set on parchment and let harden.

    4️⃣ Enjoy!

    • Serve at room temp or chill slightly for a firmer bite.

    🍬 Tips & Variations

    • Add cocoa powder to nougat for a chocolate-fluff version
    • Drizzle with white chocolate for contrast
    • Mix in crushed nuts or coconut before coating
