I HELPED PLAN MY SIL’S WEDDING, BAKED THE CAKE, PAID FOR THE CATERING—THEN I FOUND OUT ON THE WEDDING DAY THAT I WASN’T INVITED

Claire scoffed.
“Fine. You wanna know the reason?”

The room went silent. Even the DJ paused the music as everyone’s heads turned.

Claire crossed her arms.
“I didn’t invite her because she makes everything about herself. She’s controlling. This is MY day, and I didn’t want her overshadowing me.”

I stood there, speechless, my hands trembling from both anger and humiliation.

Liam’s face turned red.
“Overshadowing you? She PAID for your catering. She SPENT DAYS on that cake you’re about to cut. She’s the only reason half of this wedding even happened.”

Claire’s mom jumped in, trying to defend her daughter.
“It’s her wedding! She has the right to decide who’s invited.”

But Liam wasn’t having it.
“No. This is cruelty. You don’t treat family like this. You don’t treat ANYONE like this.”

He grabbed my arm and marched me straight inside the venue.
“If she’s not welcome, then neither am I.”

Gasps erupted from the guests as the groom stood beside me, glaring at his new wife.

Claire’s jaw dropped.
“You’re seriously choosing her over me?!”

And Liam, without missing a beat, said the words that silenced the room:
“No, Claire. I’m choosing DECENCY over you.”
