Kansas City Crunch

Instructions

 

  1. Prep Dry Mix

    • Line a baking sheet with parchment.

    • In a large bowl, combine Chex, Rice Krispies, Fritos, and cashews.

  2. Make Caramel

    • In a saucepan, combine butter, sugar, corn syrup, cinnamon, chili powder, cayenne, and salt.

    • Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally.

    • Simmer 2–3 minutes.

    • Remove from heat, stir in baking soda (it will fizz).

  3. Coat & Cool

    • Pour hot caramel over cereal mixture, tossing to coat evenly.

    • Spread on prepared sheet in a single layer.

    • Add sprinkles if desired.

    • Cool completely, at least 1 hour.

  4. Break & Store

    • Break into bite-sized pieces.

    • Store in an airtight container at room temp.
