Cornbread, crumbled 3 cups
Butter 2 tablespoons
Onion, finely diced 1 small
Celery, chopped ½ cup
Eggs, beaten 2 large
Chicken stock 2 cups
Dried sage 1 tablespoon
Salt and pepper To taste
Instructions:
Preheat & Prep Dish: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 7×11-inch baking dish. Add the crumbled cornbread to a large mixing bowl and set aside.
Cook the Veggies: In a skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the diced onion and chopped celery, cooking until they become tender—around 5 to 7 minutes.
Mix Everything Together: Transfer the cooked vegetables to the bowl with the cornbread. Pour in the chicken stock, beaten eggs, and dried sage. Season with salt and black pepper. Stir well until all the ingredients are fully combined.
Bake: Spoon the mixture into the greased baking dish and spread it out evenly. Bake for 30 minutes, or until the top and edges begin to turn a light golden brown.
