Once You Learn This, You Will Never Throw Avocado Pit Away
-
1 avocado pit
-
Toothpicks
-
A glass or jar
-
Water
Steps:
-
Clean the pitย gently, removing all avocado flesh but keeping the brown skin intact.
-
Insert 3โ4 toothpicks into the pit around its middle, evenly spaced. These will let you balance the pit on the rim of the glass.
-
Place the pit with the broad end down in a glass of water, so the bottom is submerged about 1โ2 cm.
-
Put the glass in a warm spot with indirect sunlight.
-
Change the water every few days to keep it fresh.
-
After 2โ6 weeks, youโll see roots growing downward and a stem sprouting upward.
-
When the stem is about 15 cm tall, cut it back to about 7 cm to encourage bushier growth.
-
Once roots are thick and the stem has leaves,ย plant it in soilย in a pot with good drainage.
