In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, 1/3 cup sugar, yeast, and salt.
Add warm milk, melted butter, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until well combined.
Gradually add the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, until a soft dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
Punch down the dough and roll it out into a 16×12-inch rectangle.
Spread the softened butter over the dough. Mix 1/2 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon, then sprinkle evenly over the buttered dough.
Roll up the dough tightly from the long side, then cut into 12 equal slices.
Place the rolls in a greased 9×13-inch baking pan. Cover and let rise until doubled, about 30 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
Mix 1/4 cup sugar and 1 tablespoon cinnamon, then sprinkle over the warm rolls before serving.
Variations & Tips
For a richer flavor, try adding a teaspoon of vanilla extract to the dough. You can also experiment with different fillings, such as adding chopped nuts or raisins for extra texture. If you prefer a glaze, mix powdered sugar with a bit of milk and vanilla extract, and drizzle over the rolls while they’re still warm. For a savory twist, omit the sugar and cinnamon filling and replace with cheese and herbs.
