3 pounds pork shoulder, cubed
1 cup BBQ sauce
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 onion, sliced
1 cup BBQ sauce
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 onion, sliced
Directions
Place the cubed pork shoulder in the slow cooker.
Pour the BBQ sauce and chicken broth over the pork.
Add the sliced onion on top.
Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shredded with a fork.
Once cooked, shred the pork with two forks and mix it with the sauce in the slow cooker.
Serve warm on buns, in tacos, or as a main dish.
Variations & Tips
For a spicier kick, add a teaspoon of chili powder or a few dashes of hot sauce to the mix. You can also experiment with different BBQ sauces to change up the flavor profile—try a smoky or honey BBQ sauce for a different twist. If you prefer a tangier taste, add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar to the sauce. For a complete meal, toss in some diced potatoes or carrots to cook alongside the pork.
