2 cups basmati rice
4 cups water
1 tablespoon butter
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon turmeric (for color)
½ cup grated carrot (optional)
For Garnish:
Green chili (for serving)

Instructions
1. Prepare the Meat:
In a deep pot, heat oil over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté until golden.
Add the garlic and ginger, stirring for one minute.
Add the meat cubes and brown them on all sides.
Stir in the tomato paste, cumin, coriander, black pepper, and salt. Mix well.
Add water, bring to a boil, then reduce the heat, cover, and let cook for 1 to 1.5 hours until the meat is tender.
2. Prepare the Rice:
Rinse the rice until the water runs clear. Soak it in water for 30 minutes.
In another pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the rice and stir for 2-3 minutes.
Pour in 4 cups of water, add salt and turmeric. Bring to a boil, then cover and reduce heat. Cook for 15-20 minutes until the rice is done.
