::Recipe Tin Project: Heavenly Squares

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare the Bar Layer

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to beat together butter and sugar until creamy.

  • Add the egg and vanilla, then mix well.

  • Stir in graham cracker crumbscoconut, and walnuts until fully combined.

  • Press the mixture evenly into a 9×13-inch baking pan.

  • Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the layer is set and golden.

  • Let cool completely before frosting.


2. Make the Frosting

  • In a clean bowl, beat the butter until smooth and creamy.

  • Gradually add the powdered sugar and milk.

  • Beat for about 2–3 minutes, or until the frosting is light and fluffy.

  • Spread evenly over the cooled base layer.


3. Make the Chocolate Topping

  • In a microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and butter.

  • Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until fully melted and smooth.

  • Pour and smooth the melted chocolate over the frosted layer.

  • Let the chocolate layer set completely before slicing into squares.

  • Optional Tip: Chill the frosted bars in the fridge for 20–30 minutes before adding the chocolate to make spreading easier.


🧁 Storage Tips

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to 1 week.

  • For clean cuts, use a sharp knife warmed with hot water and wipe between slices.
