Season the schnitzels or fillets with salt and pepper and place them side by side in a baking dish.
Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the finely chopped onion until translucent.
Then add the bacon, mushrooms, gherkins, and strips of bell pepper and fry briefly.
Crush the garlic and stir in. Deglaze with the stock and bring to a boil briefly.
Stir in the sour cream and tomato paste, season with salt, pepper, paprika, and hot sauce.
Pour the hot sauce over the schnitzels in the baking dish and bake everything at 170Β°C fan-assisted oven (or 200Β°C top/bottom heat) for about 20-30 minutes, depending on the thickness of the meat.
Optional: Sprinkle with cheese 5 minutes before the end of the cooking time and bake until golden brown.
Side dish tip: This goes perfectly with pasta, rice, potatoes, or simply a fresh baguette for soaking up the delicious sauce!
