Ingredients
For the Dough:
200g (1 ½ cups) all-purpose flour
2g (½ tsp) instant yeast
10g (2 tsp) sugar
2g (¼ tsp) salt
160g (⅔ cup) water
For the Filling:
1 tbsp cooking oil (for handling dough)
2 eggs
2 tbsp chopped green onion
4 slices ham, chopped
1 tsp sugar
2 slices cheddar cheese
Directions
Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, mix flour, yeast, sugar, salt, and water with a spatula for 3 minutes. The dough will be sticky—don’t panic!
Ferment the Dough: Cover the bowl with a lid and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour until doubled in size.
Prepare the Fillings: While the dough is resting, chop the green onion and ham into small pieces.
Shape the Dough: After 1 hour, coat your hands with cooking oil to prevent sticking. Take a fistful of dough, roughly shape it into a round, and place it in a heated, oiled frying pan.
Flatten the Dough: Gently press down the center to flatten it, but avoid touching the edges.
Assemble the Filling: Sprinkle 1 tsp of sugar on the dough. Then add an egg, green onions, and ham evenly on top.
Cook on Low Heat: Cover the pan and cook on low heat until the underside turns slightly brown (about 3-4 minutes).
Flip & Cook Again: Carefully flip the bread and grill the other side for another 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
Melt the Cheese: Place cheddar cheese on top and cover the pan again. Once the cheese melts, it’s ready!
Serve & Enjoy: Cut into pieces and enjoy while warm. The crispy outside and soft inside will melt in your mouth!
