The genius trick for cleaning the washing machine drawer
This cleaning should be done at least once a week
…to remove excess detergent, which can later become smelly and musty.
Pay attention to the self-cleaning function:
Many machines have this feature to eliminate built-up bacteria and clean the drum at around 70°C (158°F). However, it doesn’t always deliver the expected results.
Leave the door open after the rinse cycle
Golden rule: Always remember to leave the washing machine door open after doing laundry to allow the drum to ventilate properly.
If you keep it closed, no air can circulate inside, and the remaining moisture encourages bacterial growth.
Wipe the door seal after every wash
Speaking of moisture: be sure to thoroughly dry the rubber door seal. Use a clean cloth after each wash.
If you skip this step, water trapped in the seal can quickly lead to bad odors.
