Tomatoes with dark green nipples, fresh and tight nipple branches, and slightly concave ends are naturally ripe, fresh tomatoes.
In contrast, if the fruit has a yellow or brown nipple, it isn’t a high-quality tomato. It may have been treated with chemicals or is simply old and stored for too long.
4. Check the Weight of Tomatoes
Naturally ripened tomatoes tend to be softer when you hold them.
On the other hand, tomatoes that have been forced to ripen are usually firmer and harder to squeeze, even if they look ripe.
