This is what comfort food means to me. I can eat this dish on repeat
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish and set it aside.
2. In a large skillet, cook the hot sausage over medium heat until it’s browned and cooked through. Use a spatula to break it up into smaller crumbles as it cooks. Remove the cooked sausage from the skillet and set it aside. Drain grease.
3. Mix tator tots, sausage and cheese. Pour into baking dish.
4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, seasonings (salt/pepper/onion powder/garlic powder) until well combined. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the tater tot layer in the baking dish.
5. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown and slightly crispy.
Once done, remove the casserole from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions and hot sauce, if desired.
Serve the Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole warm, cut into squares. It’s perfect for a hearty breakfast or brunch!
