Dried Bread Cubes 4 cups (for stuffing)
Butter 2 tablespoons (additional 4 tablespoons for mashed potatoes and stuffing, plus more for gravy)
Milk 1 cup (for mashed potatoes)
Shredded Cheddar Cheese 1/2 cup (optional, for mashed potatoes)
Buttered Breadcrumbs 1 cup (for topping, optional)
Turkey Gravy (Optional for Serving) Prepared according to package instructions or homemade
Instructions:
Prepare the Stuffing:
In a skillet, sauté 1/2 cup of finely chopped onion, 1 minced clove of garlic, and 2 diced celery stalks in 2 tablespoons of butter until softened.
Add 1 teaspoon each of chopped thyme and rosemary, then season with salt and pepper.
Pour in 2 cups of chicken broth, bring to a simmer, and then pour the mixture over 4 cups of dried bread cubes in a bowl. Gently mix to combine.
Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Dish:
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a casserole dish to prevent sticking.
