Step 1: Prepare
Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat). Grease a springform pan (26 cm in diameter). Peel, core, and dice the apples into small cubes.
Step 2: Cook the Vanilla Pudding
Prepare the vanilla pudding according to the package instructions using 400 ml of milk and the packet of vanilla sugar. Let it cool slightly so it’s not too hot when poured over the batter.
Step 3: Make the Batter
In a bowl, beat the butter, sugar, and eggs until creamy. Add the flour, baking powder, and salt, and mix into a smooth batter.
Step 4: Layer
Pour the batter into the springform pan and smooth it out. Evenly distribute the apple cubes over the top. Pour the still-warm (but not hot) pudding over the apples and gently spread it out.
Step 5: Bake & Serve
Bake the cake for about 35 minutes until golden yellow. Let it cool before serving – this allows the pudding to set nicely and blend perfectly with the base.

Pudding too hot: If you pour it directly from the stove onto the batter, the base can become soggy.
