What Do Blood Pressure Numbers Mean?
A blood pressure reading has two numbers:
Systolic (top number): Pressure when the heart beats
Diastolic (bottom number): Pressure when the heart rests between beats

Normal Blood Pressure by Age Group
Children (6–12 years)
Normal: Around 95–110 / 55–70
Blood pressure in children is naturally lower and increases gradually as they grow.
Teenagers (13–18 years)
Normal: Around 105–120 / 65–80

Young Adults (19–39 years)
Normal: 110–120 / 70–80
This is often the healthiest range when lifestyle factors are balanced.
Middle-Aged Adults (40–59 years)
Normal: 115–125 / 75–85

Older Adults (60+ years)
Normal: 120–130 / 80–90
Doctors often monitor older adults closely to balance heart health and circulation.
When Is Blood Pressure Considered High?
Elevated: 120–129 / under 80
High (Stage 1): 130–139 / 80–89
High (Stage 2): 140+ / 90+
