You are doing it all wrong. Here’s the right way to plant tomatoes & get plants up to 8 feet high

Remove Lower Leaves from the seedling.

Dig Deep or Trench:

Vertical Method: Bury ⅔ of the stem upright.

Trench Method: Lay the plant sideways; roots will form along the buried stem.

Why? More buried stem = more roots = more nutrients and stronger plants.
