- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ cup heaping molasses
- 1 large egg
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ tsp ground cloves
- ½ tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp salt
- Extra sugar for rolling
