Woman Discovers Lost Engagement Ring 13 Years Later—On a Carrot

Mary Grams, an 84-year-old from Canada, lost her diamond engagement ring over two decades ago while weeding on her family farm in Alberta. Heartbroken, she confided in only her son and believed the ring was gone forever.

In 2023, Mary’s daughter-in-law, Colleen Daley, was harvesting carrots in the same garden. Pulling up a peculiarly twisted carrot, she spotted something shimmering: a diamond ring embedded on the carrot, as if the vegetable had been wearing it all along.

A Bittersweet Moment

Mary reflected on the discovery with mixed emotions, expressing regret for never telling her late husband about the loss. “He would have gotten a kick out of it,” she said. Her husband had passed away eight years before the ring was found. Now back in her possession, she promised: “If I’m going outside, I’ll put it in a safe place.”
