Salt and black pepper to taste

For the Sauce:

2 tbsp unsalted butter
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 cups sliced mushrooms (button or cremini)
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp dried thyme
Fresh thyme sprigs (for garnish)
