Midnight Fudge Cake
Step 4: Make the Fudge Layer
- In a small saucepan over low heat, combine the chocolate chips, heavy cream, butter, and salt.
- Stir continuously until the mixture is smooth and glossy. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
Step 5: Assemble the Cake
- Place one cooled cake layer on a serving plate or cake stand.
- Spread half of the fudge mixture evenly over the top of the first layer.
- Top with the second cake layer and spread the remaining fudge mixture over the top and sides of the cake.
Step 6: Prepare the Glaze
In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust milk as needed for desired consistency.
