Ingredients:
6 potatoes, scrubbed clean
2 tablespoons butter, room temperature
1.5 cups heavy cream
1.5 cups shredded sharp cheddar
1/2 cup whole milk
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
4 minced garlic cloves
Salt and pepper to taste
Sliced chives to taste
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
2. Slice the scrubbed potatoes thinly or dice (whatever is preferred). Place potatoes in greased baking dish.
3. In a mixing bowl, blend together the milk and cream.
4. Incorporate the flour, minced garlic, salt, and pepper into the mixture, whisking until well combined.
5, Gently pour this creamy mixture evenly over the potatoes.
6. Cover the dish with foil and place in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove foil, and continue baking for an additional 25 minutes.
7. Just before serving, sprinkle the top with cheese and return it to the oven for another 4 minutes or until the cheese becomes melted and develops a bubbly, golden appearance.
